Sir, Euromyth alert! I don't know about living life backward, but your columnist Bill Hearld has certainly got some things backward when he has another one of his sideswipes at Europe (‘Living life backwards', 10 January). He claims that the EU “may force builders to cover up” to avoid sunburn. It's not true. Like many such scare stories, this one was invented by The Sun – and for once, even they have admitted their error! It's a shame Mr Hearld feels the need to sully an otherwise entertaining column by dropping in half-hearted jabs. Unsupported claims about absurd new laws from Brussels should always set alarm bells ringing – especially when they come from known eurosceptics. Richard Corbett |
