Dear Editor,

Councillor David Schofield used your columns (letters, 1st March) to claim that the new regulations on sizes and weight of letters and packages "are being imposed under an EU directive". No doubt this is part of the campaign by Eurosceptic Conservatives to blame the EU for anything they can possibly think of.

The fact is that it is the mail regulator in the UK that sets the parameters on size etc and any complaints should be sent to the regulator or to the Department for Trade and Industry.

Yours,

Richard Corbett
