| Corbett makes constitution available to everyone | |||
|
Labour MEP Richard Corbett is launching a campaign to make the new EU constitution accessible to everyone in Yorkshire and the Humber - so constituents can make up their own minds about its contents. Richard said: "Over the coming months, many people will want to find out more about the new constitution. So I have decided to launch a series of initiatives to make the document accessible to everyone in the region. "It's only fair that people should be able to compare what they read in the press - and what the various political parties claim - with what the text actually says." By visiting Richard's website, Yorkshire residents can now find out more about the constitution through a number of routes:
Richard added: "Not everyone will want to bury themselves in the full text, which is why I have provided a concise briefing pack, and other short summaries and analyses alongside the document itself. "But, compared to most legal documents, the EU constitution is surprisingly easy to read. I can see no reason at all why there should be difficulties for anyone who wants to read it." |
