MEP welcomes "right to roam" rule change |
|||
|
Yorkshire and Humberside MEP Richard Corbett today welcomed EU plans to lower the cost of using a mobile phone abroad. The plans, announced today, will involve the capping of roaming costs at the price of a standard cross-network call within the UK. Richard said: "The cost of using your mobile phone abroad is scandalously high. We have been encouraging the industry to lower its prices for some time, but as they have failed to do so of their own accord it is only right that we take more serious measures." The plans, if passed by Parliament, will come into force around 2007/2008. |
