Corbett awaits Sykes debate with interest |
|||
|
Yorkshire and Humber MEP Richard Corbett has welcomed Paul Sykes's decision to accept his challenge and take part in a public debate on the UK's relationship with the EU. Richard, who is also the Deputy Leader of the Labour MEPs, challenged the multimillionaire Yorkshireman to take part in a debate after being shocked by the property developer's speakout campaign, which has been launched today. Richard said: "I am glad Mr Sykes has accepted my challenge and await with interest to see how on earth he will explain some of the claims presented on his website. "As Mr Sykes rightly points out, not enough people know about the EU but his campaign clearly has no intention of presenting it fairly. By discussing the issue publicly I hope to balance his myths with some facts." |
