Yorkshire Euro MP Richard Corbett has congratulated Scarborough after it was declared the most enterprising town in Europe by the European Commission.
The regeneration of Scarborough, through the Renaissance Project, helped the town beat a series of places from across Europe to the award, including competition from Helsinki, Lìege and Zaragoza.
Richard said: "I am absolutely delighted to see Scarborough's initiative and enterprise recognised and rewarded. The town is one of the most iconic places in Yorkshire and the award is not just fantastic news for the town but for the whole of Yorkshire.
"I recently visited the Rotunda following its facelift and it is a perfect example of the hard work and vision that has gone into the town over the past few years. I am sure that everyone in Yorkshire is very proud of Scarborough's magnificent achievement."
