| Euro MP's praise for Scarborough's Woodend Creative Workspace | |||
| Labour MEP Richard Corbett joined parliamentary candidate Annajoy David on a visit to Scarborough's Woodend Creative Workspace to see how the centre is helping regenerate the town. The centre, which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, helped Scarborough win the title of Europe's most enterprising town last week. Richard said: "Woodend is an excellent example of how European funding has helped Scarborough's economy develop. The facilities provided are top class and set in a beautiful building and it will help new businesses get off the ground and sustain already established companies in the region." Annajoy David, who will be Labour's candidate for Scarborough and Whitby at the next General Election had special words of praise for the project's director. Annajoy said: "The Woodend centre is a key player in the regeneration of Scarborough's enterprise. Andrew Clay is a formidable director and he has played a significant role and helping to put the cultural industries sector on the map in Scarborough which in turn has played a significant contribution in the EU and UK awards for enterprise that the town has been awarded." |
