Med1web

Previously trading as International Medical Information (I.M.I.)

Misleading contracts Were mailed using the name 'Physicians and Therapists Guide'. The mailing of such contracts may have ceased

DISCLAIMER This website is in no way affiliated or associated with the Novachannel AG / Med1web or United Directories Lda. This is a non-commercial website established in Opposition to all companies that mail potentially misleading contracts and who refuse to cancel such contracts when they are disputed. StopECG is not responsible for the content of any external site we link to.

IMI / Med1web was established as part of well known misleading guide operators Novachannal AG. and stopECG has advised that persons in dispute with Med1Web should follow that advice on the main Novachannal AG page. However at the start of 2009 Med1web was sold to a Portuguese company, United Directories Lda.
At this point it is unclear what plans United Directories Lda. Have for the directory. StopECG would urge them to do the following.
  1. Accept all requests for cancellation of existing contracts where the person who signed states that they were mislead by the layout or form words used by Novachannel AG
  2. If they plan to seek new business, to design a contract where the layout and form of words cannot mislead people into thinking they are getting a free entry when in fact a cost is inferred.

On 13th March 2009 Lawyers Menéres Pimentel Mendes Pinto Borges de Carvalho Ataíde & Associados (MPBA) wrote to StopECG confirming that their client United Directories Lda have purchased Med1web. They note that United Directories Lda is in no way linked to Novachannel AG or its shareholders. They go on to describe this webpage as defamatory and to request its immediate removal.

In the letter 3 specific points are made, all of which stopECG feels it can currently agree to amicably. In our reply we have noted this, detailed the modifications made to the website and encouraged United Directories Lda to maintain correspondence so that we can work together to take Med1web in a new and reputable direction.

At this point it should be assumed that United Directories Lda are an entirely innocent 3rd party and this page is maintained in case people who have signed the contracts mailed by Novachannel and who dispute those contracts receive demands for payment.

If you have been in dispute with Med1Web please forward any new correspondence you receive to us so we can update this page.

Notes:
Initially trading as International Medical Information (I.M.I.), Med1web was first established around 2004, no secret was made of the fact that this was a division of Novachannel and the forms were similar to other forms mailed by the parent company, following the standard Lüdenbach style of misleading contract.

Med1web targetted the medical profession, with familiar Novachannel tactics, forms were mass mailed and when a form was signed and returned Novachannel would wait for a protracted period before mailing an advertising proof. Most recipients challenged the contract at this stage only to be told that the cooling off period has expired and they were 'legally bound'. Many refused to pay and their status remains unclear following the sale of the company.

The primary Domain used has been http://www.med1web.com/ The domain was registered to NovaChannel AG and the website was hosted on Novachannels servers. As of Early 2009 the admin for the domain has been shown as 'LDA, UNITED Directorios' with the website hosted in the Azores. Last check Mar 2009

Novachannel also regestered a slew of other domains, the status of which is shown below
