Administrator/Caseworker

Location                 Leeds, UK

Hours                     Full-time (Part-time can be negotiated)

Salary                     £19,641-27,876 gross per annum (IPSA scale: Executive Support 1)

Description

To provide office administration, diary management, and handle both written and electronic correspondence.

To manage the MEP’s casework load in the constituency office in Leeds.

To provide information, advice and support to constituents as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

Day to day running of the MEP’s constituency office

Dealing with daily enquiries from members of the public by phone or in person, taking the appropriate initial action to resolve, document or pass on concerns and enquiries

Drafting correspondence

Managing a caseload, monitoring and progressing cases

Manage constituency office finances and budgets; and ensuring all receipts and expenses are accurately recorded

General office administration, including office expenses and the MEP’s diary for the constituency

Building and maintaining links with local organisations and elected representatives.

Working with another colleague responsible for media and communications

Supervising any interns that might join the office team.

Person Specification

Educated to degree level or with 3 years relevant work experience

Efficient interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral

The ability to write succinctly and confidently

Excellent organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise task and meet tight deadlines

An ability to work independently and with minimum supervision

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google products

An ability to help constituents in a helpful, sympathetic and sensitive manner

A full, clean driving licence

An interest in current affairs and sympathy with Labour Party values
